What Phoenix families often ask before booking

Do you take insurance?
Luci is an out-of-network provider for most plans, which is common for IBCLCs in Phoenix. You’ll receive a detailed superbill you can submit for potential reimbursement, and many families are partially reimbursed. HSA/FSA cards are gladly accepted. Before your visit, you’ll receive a clear estimate of your out-of-pocket cost.
When should I schedule a lactation consult?
Any time feeding feels confusing, painful, or stressful is a good time. Many families schedule a prenatal visit during the third trimester, or an initial consult within the first 1–2 weeks after birth. If you’re experiencing nipple damage, low output with pumping, weight concerns, or are close to giving up, reach out as soon as possible—same- and next-day visits are often available.
What areas do you serve for in-home visits?
Luci serves central Phoenix, Arcadia, Biltmore, Scottsdale, Tempe, and parts of Glendale and Chandler. If you’re outside the travel radius, virtual visits are available anywhere in Arizona. If you’re unsure, send your zip code in the contact form and we’ll confirm what’s possible.
Can you help if I’m combo-feeding or using formula?
Absolutely. Luci supports all feeding choices and will never pressure you to exclusively breastfeed. Many families choose a mix of breastfeeding, pumping, and formula. Together we’ll create a plan that protects your mental health, your baby’s growth, and your family’s rhythms.
What happens if I need more than one visit?
Many families feel significantly better after one visit, but some situations benefit from follow-up care (for example, tongue tie releases or complex medical histories). If that’s the case, you’ll have clear recommendations and discounted follow-up visit pricing compared to your initial consult.
